Why did you choose the Amphenol 12401832E40-2A and not some generic* USB 3.1 type C interface? ( Is this more than is needed given that most USB-C cables are not mil-spec? but, it is the commercial line so idk)

Could it be this? "This connector system is designed to establish future USB performance needs, supporting audio and video signal output with an alternate mode." - https://www.mouser.com/new/amphenol/amphenol-usb-type-c-connector-system/

generic: https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256805263422607.html

oh, see https://github.com/skuep/AIOC/issues/65 . I guess this is possible.

(edit: there is also a PR (https://github.com/skuep/AIOC/pull/68) with updating the USB-C connector This USB-C connector is common/generic on AliExpress ($0.358), but maybe rarer and more expensive than the Amphenol ($1.0275/ea) in the parts catalog. Ones from AliEpress would need to be soldered on ones own. Ones with apparent equivalent geometry appear to be on Digikey (I haven't checked the other suppliers): Attend Technology: 217B-BC02, $1.88 ( https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/attend-technology/217B-BC02/17634662) Molex: 2216100001, $2.55 (https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/molex/2216100001/19092742))
