Add Comet Nishimura & Extra Question #485

Open exaCORE42 opened 1 year ago

Comet Nishimura is visible this weekend, so being able to view it with SkyMap would be nice!

Also, quick question: how does SkyMap track the position of stars/ planets in the sky? Does it use a database or simply a simulation of the solar system? I am wondering just because I am interested :)

Thanks!

Also, on the same topic as the previous question, if the app doesn't use a database, would it be feasible to have it automatically query an online database of small objects (perhaps like this one: https://ssd.jpl.nasa.gov/tools/sbdb_query.html, but I'm not sure if that one has an API that is usable....) and automatically add comets/other small objects of interest?

Comet Nishimura is no longer visible, should I close this issue?

Please, do close. The project doesn't seem to be actively maintained.
