Additional star catalogues #911

Are any star catalogues larger than Hipparcos integrated? I was looking at Tycho2, which was pretty easy to do by reusing hipparcos.py and updating the column headers (see #909). How about something even larger such as Gaia?

Hipparcos is the only one that I have used. If you have a need to use Gaia, should we rename this issue to "Support Gaia star catalog"? Or are you asking for advice because you're not sure which catalog to use? Maybe you could explain your project and what range of stars you need positions for, and that might suggest a good next step.

I'd like to chime in here and campaign for additional catalogs. I run a radio astronomy observatory (www.ccera.ca) and catalogs like the NRAO catalogs, 3C catalog, etc, would all be very convenient.
