splash screen never closes #401

The initial splash screen doesn't close. The interface is responsive so the
program seems to be fully loaded but the splash screen doesn't go away on
its own.

This behavior is exhibited on the Mac 10.4 PowerPC on the "Unassigned NIF Desk"
The 3D view never seems to visualize and the splash screen remains.

What is the "Unassigned NIF Desk"?

Do you see any clues as to what is going on in the client side log?

Note on this issue:

I believe this is being cause by out of date drivers on that computer, and by 
the 
"Unassigned NIF Desk" is meant the empty Macintosh desktop that is located two 
desks 
away from Luan's desk. The video card on that computer only supports an old 
version 
of OpenGL and JME2 needs a newer version (I believe 1.3+), therefore when it 
tries to 
Create the DisplaySystem it will fail, and the splash screen will never close 
since 
our code is not taking in consideration this scenario. 
This issue is blocked on the issue 354 ("report to users if they have 
insufficient 
video card drivers"), which hasn't been solved yet.
