Preferences wizard does not change mesh quality #413

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Select edit->preferences
2.Choose Mesh quality -> low

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expect meshes to become low quality.  Instead they disappear completely.  
Switching back to high mesh quality doesn't bring them back.

Please use labels and text to provide additional information.
