Slides not appearing #423

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open WBC
2. Click on the root node of the slides category
3. wait for slides to show

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect to see all slides visible in the scene

Instead, some slides come up, but all of the web-service slides do not
come up.
If a user individually toggles the slides on/off, they eventually are made
active and come up.

OK, this is critical to fix.  Can one of you look into this and make it your 
highest 
priority until it is resolved?
