Adjust behavior of checkboxes in data types panel #450

I keep getting confused about what is going to happen when I click on a box 
that is already checked in the data types panel.  If the box is in the 
"partially checked" state, where some of its children are checked, the 
correct action should be to uncheck itself and all children.  Currently the 
default behavior is to check itself and all its children if any child is 
checked.  Can we try it the other way and see if it is more intuitive?
