Webstart loading issue on mac for 0.7.6.1 #454

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Start the "latest build" link on the website
2.WBC will not load, complains about a jar signing issue
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Please use labels and text to provide additional information.
This is the most important problem we can solve right now. I suggest we
try doing a release from the mac and see if we can load it on windows.
let's be sure that both java 1.5 is set with the JAVA_HOME variable, as
well as making sure that the version of java pointed to by the path is java
1.5 (and the same java 1.5)

When this is solved, we should push from stage to prod.

"Latest build" 0.7.6.1 brings up the client on my Mac. At a terminal window
java -
version shows 1.5. Echo $JAVA_HOME shows this env var is not set which may be
customary on a Mac. "Latest build" is pointed at stage-.

I'm not sure what the problem is. The usual solution for "jar signing" is
clearing the
cache.

dev- is running wbc-server-1.0.4; stage- 1.0.4; prod 1.0.1.

The client comes up for you?? Terrific. Chris doesn't have it working.
Chris, please
let's resolve this discrepency and figure out what is going on with your system.

Dave, could you bring your mac over for today's meeting? In particular I'd
like to see
if volume rendering works on the latest build running on your machine. Chris
will
explain how to check.

Version 7.6.2 which I built on Thursday works on Larry's, David and Rich's
machines. All these machines at Mac
OSX 10.5+

Whereas the mac I use is 10.4, and still does not work.

I can see the volume rendering running on Dave Little's machine. There is a
problem though, see latest from
(Issue 370). This odd rendering should not be considered a part of this issue
though.

Rebuilding and releasing on the mac (0.7.6.3) did not change the situation. The
error is still being shown. Jesus is re-uploading three jars to the Nexus to
try and
solve this.

Rebuilt and deployed using version 0.7.6.4 using JDK 1.5 and can see it working
on
my Linux machine (which usually is a good indicator of how the Mac will work).
