Scale bars don't stay turned off

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Start WBC
2.Select a parallel fiber from the mesh models and zoom to it
3.Deselect the scale bars from the view menu
4.Go back to lateral view
5.Load a slide
6.Select the slide

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Scale bars show up around the slide even though the scale bars are checked 
off.  Checking it on and off gets rid of them but then the next time you 
click on something they are still there.
