A picture speaks lowder than words.

4.1.6 a quick internal test build to weed these out browser was full width 1920x1200.

The screenshot above was taken on tvshows and represents the layout issues pretty well..

Disregards the empty columns, I guess the empty columns are the space for the scroll bar, durh! though the other bits still apply.

ghost commented 10 years ago

As you found out the extra column space is for the scrollbar. It can be removed but things look very ugly when scrollbars are needed.

The top set of stars is the show rating, the bottom set is the episode rating.

The bulk of the work I've been doing has been to fix functionality and strip out dead code. The UI needs a lot of work. The current UI doesn't scale well across different screen sizes.

Now that most of the backend code has been cleaned up for the video section I need to rework the UI, there's a lot of wasted space.

Yes if scrollbars need it keep it, when I first wrote this (given I test on a vm and dont have a large list of content) there were none so it wasnt obvious, now it is.

thx for attention to the ui mess anyway will wait for better days.

4.1.7rc7

This is still a problem, the genres column is way too large and gobbles up the poster.

The top rating is for the show, the bottom rating is for the episode. The artwork mismatch should be fixed with #105.

@uNiversaI which browser are you using and what screen resolution are you running at?

At the moment the movies and TV section are functional but badly spaced, they don't scale very well between screen resolutions. Can you do as above and post screenshots of anything you think's broken or ugly.

The main issue is the fact the ExtJS 3 is 4-5 years old, it doesn't make use of any of the updates to html/css from the last couple of years. The only real solution is to switch to a different framework. I've got a prototype that's semi functional, but I just don't have the time at the moment to get it up to the same level of functionality we are currently at.

Its on first post. 1920x1200 and browser firefox.

I'll take your word for it, Ill be honest, this seems to be a great deal of work and Helix final is coming up and we dont seem anywhere closer to some stable release as is.

Side note. What Ill do it try to build a repository at thsi rate we may as well forget the default repo and we need something to get users to get updates automatically. This manual download is getting old really fast.
