The unlock doesn't work with latest AA and Google play #66

Too bad but I think the latest Google update blocked the Aamirror today, any way I can learn how to unlock it here?

Trying this solution for the very first time I also found that AAmirror does not appear in the App list of Android Auto on my OnePlus3T (Android 8.0.0/OxygenOS 5.0.6, magisk rooted, AA Version: 3.7.584044, developer options enabled, and "unknown source" ticked). And I mean "not at all", not "after some time" or so.

It would be so lovely to have this App working! AA is so lame with all it's default limitations. I'm e.g. searching for years for a feasible and supported music player...

You can do like this: change android auto appication mode to release and uncheck unknown sources. And you unlock agin.

it does work.

It seems AA mirror stopped working for me on 2 Samsung tablets. It was working just recently, but now when I tap on the little speedometer icon on car screen the AAMirror option doesn't come up anymore. I tried to unlock again. Try to uncheck and recheck thr allow unknown sources, not working.

Android auto>left menu >about >right menu >developer setting >application model >release and uncheck unknown source unlock again

In fact on my phone the "application model" was unset, therefore I was confident to give it a try. Sidenote: On my phone the model "release" is called "Version", which is a very poor translation into German. So watch out, "release" is the very first out of 5 options.

Unfortunately, after giving a try on 4 out of 10 combinations (5 application models, with and without "unknown source") + of course "unlock" and reboot after every change, the best I could get was with "application model" set to "developer".

But still no "AA mirror" was showing up. I just saw more than nothing at all (mostly the native AA apps + some more that didn't do anything when clicked).

BTW: "AA unlock" is giving us a hint on what it does with the text in the "Relock" button. Here I can tell you that my (and maybe all of the affected people) do no longer have GPS with "Chimera" modules. These modules are now officially called "Google play services modules" in the settings (maybe because they had some bad news lately?). Maybe this is where you should start with debugging...

I testet every AA developers mode and check or uncheck the unknow source. best result in AA developer, than are the all Auto Apps but no mirror to see, i take AAUnlock also the 3rd part tool. sorry, is somebody here to can help, i need the app so much. but with google play services in old vers. 12.x there are much more errors, ex. Youtube doesnt run and many more. the last was this pic: img-20181228-wa0008 than i have reste the phone check the car, take my tab, with the tab runs AA only. so the problem is the phone with root and mirror. Ich reset the phone and get all updates from Google, now AA runs, but without mirror and the fail with errormessage is gone. So result is now, mirror doesnt in the car screen anymore, too bad really, i need this so much and was so good to make the hobbys show videos until i wait for friends and children the geocaching up doesnt work now anymore as navi and so on........

I confirm the AA Mirror & AA Mirror Plus work using AA_Phenotype_Patcher_0.85, but FIRST you should clear data of Android Auto and Google Play services.

My BIG QUESTION now is should we block AA and GPS for updates? In my opinion screen mirroring in AA is like a ping-pong game, Google always block AA Mirror (3rd party apps) and devs always find solutions to hack Google blocks (sometimes this takes much time and is hard to apply them). What should we do?
