As we all know ueberzug is not maintained any more.
So can you please add support for libsixel(image2sixel) for displaying images.
libsixel protocol is supported by so many terminal emulators like foot.
img2sixel can be used with imagemagick for displaying images in lf.

Sounds like a good idea. I looked into the kitty graphics protocol as an ueberzug replacement and as a modern successor to sixel, but I feel that it's trying to do too much. I reckon sixel is the way forward.

I played around with chaffa, which does amazing terminal graphics and is even able to use the sixel protocol for terminal emulators that support it. I have a working prototype gadget which I'll finish and upload once I'm back from vacation.
