I am having this issue, occasionally. In certain parts of Tulsa, OK, I will be reported as Tullahoma, TN. Disabling mock locations seemed to work for me.
Is there a specific reasoning that mock locations are enabled by default? When I flashed a newer build of CM7, the setting was reverted back to on.
That's nothing. I've been to the middle of Siberia, Rio de Janeiro, and the middle of the desert in Texas, not to mention Kenya and some other country in Africa in the past week.
I believe it's related to Lib_locapi. Download "Network Location Cache" from the market and see what it gives you. Accuracy on cell towers is horrible, ie a large number.
I also have been on the other side of the world. Tasker is completely lost.
Fix can be found here:

GPS works and fixes correctly, but applications that rely on Network location services may fail to get correct location Can be off up to a few thousand miles.
Possible Fixes: -Disable Mock Locations -Turn On Wifi (No requirement to be connected) -Disable Network location: Settings > Location and Security > Use wireless networks (unchecked)
