Unusable with Opera and Firefox under Debian Stretch (Trac #1732) #1732

I guess the operating system is not that important. However both the latest Versions 1.5.4 and 1.5.3 do not work with Firefox or Opera at all.

With Firefox 68.9 I cannot type any more. The letter b opens for example a new window. See screenshot attached. I get no Javascript error here.

With Opera the xinha is not loaded at all. See also the screenshot for more information.

Konqueror seems to work fine!

Some better description of the Firefox typing problem: Some letters work normal like 'e' and 'a', other letters like 's' and 'f' do not appear at all and there is no action triggered, the letter 'b' does not appear but a new tab is opened.

Firefox 78.0.2 (64-bit)

Tested with the one line to Xinha demo http://www.xinha.org/xinha-cdn/examples/OneLine.html

Works fine. Suggest that you disable any extentions you have loaded, like adblock etc.

Looking at your Opera screenshot, I would say there is a high chance you are experiencing a caching issue and that your problem browsers are using a previously cached and old version of some of the Xinha files, I suggest to move your xinha install from the "xinha" directory to a new directory, eg "xinha-1.5" and then test from there.

I note you are using the OldNewbieGuide examples, I would suggest you try some of the other examples as well, particularly the simplest example OneLine.html in the examples folder.

As above I checked in Firefox 78.0.2 and that's working fine (on my ancient Ubuntu box, installed the official tar.bz2)

I also tested Opera 69.0.3686.57 on a Windows 7 box and that is working just fine also.

Tested both with the online One Line To Xinha example...

Sorry for My late reaction. I did not use Xinha since I made this ticket.

The problem with Opera was indeed the cache! I emptied it a everything works perfect now.

The problem with Firefox was indeed some extensions. The AdBlock-Extension was not not the problem. But since Firefox removed the ability of editing the Browser-Shortcuts I installed some extensions for that. I disabled them and now everything works perfect.

Thank You for You friendly help. I love Xinha.
