Spelling inconsistencies #28

It seems that sir Stoffel liked to use a final sigma even in the middle of words (such as προςευχῇ / προςεύχεσθαι).

The transcription sometimes follows his spelling, and sometimes does not. See for example the scan (look at the first line of page 58) where he spells it with a final sigma, but the transcription uses a regular sigma.

If it was me, I would make them all use a regular sigma, and I would be happy to submit a PR with the spelling standardized that way if that would be helpful.

the question to ask is, should this repo represent the book exactly, older Greek conventions, spelling differences, etc… or should this repo represent a “corrected” version of the book?

I believe the goal of this project might be to capture the book exactly, rather than create an updated version.

I believe the goal of this project might be to capture the book exactly, rather than create an updated version.

If that is true, then the transcription still needs correcting, because it does not capture the book exactly. I don't know what the exact goal of the project is, hence the reason for raising the issue. 😄

I'm only inferring from previous activity in this repo, but I believe the intent is to capture the book exactly how it was in the PDF. I could be wrong though.

Although more difficult to manage, perhaps one solution to the continual debate over if xyz thing should be fixed is to have two versions of the file. One that is the book exactly, and one that is a version updated to the modern Christian preferences for Greek text? (As opposed to Greeks who may or may not want to go even further and fix more spellings and change the accenting)
