The readme file says that a pre-compiled version for Windows exists. Yet I can't find it. Where do I download it from? Please help me.

I've found it after almost an hour of searching: https://web.archive.org/web/20130116210242/http://www.digitalforensicssolutions.com/Scalpel/ This is the original website before it was shut down and it contains the exe.

Why did the people who switched to keeping it on Github (instead of a separate website) not also upload their previous EXEs (or at least the EXE of the last version they actually compiled) here too? You know, for people who don't want to take the time to compile it themselves.

And how am I supposed to know that? My guess is that they abandoned the project and just put the source on Github to preserve it for the future.
