battlefield2.available.gamespy.com (BF2.exe startup request) server not working #1

When you start Battlefield 2 it will connect to 
battlefield2.available.gamespy.com even before loading the videos.
If this server doesn't respond, Battlefield 2 will take a lot of time to start 
because DICE has set a really generous timeout.
