It's easier to export the stl (right-clic->export) and then do the measurement with a software designed for that.
in SuperSlicer
btw, are you sure you posted this issue in the right github repository?

well, yeah - of course it would be easier not to have to write the code and implement a feature and instead rely on another program to do it. i guess the point of my asking is so i didn’t have to use two different software applications.

i thought it was. this is where i believe it sent me.
i am not a 3D artist but i do print a lot of stuff that 3D artists make. recently i opened up a model we had commissioned that ended up being printed in resin as opposed to FDM. well - the resin model is starting to separate and we are going to have to reprint. so we may print in ABS or ASA this time instead of resin.
my boss wanted me to see how thick the shell was of the model but there is no way to measure things in SuperSlicer. so i am asking if a dynamic measure tool (a live tool that lets you take measurements all over) could be implemented.
here is an example of the shell i was trying to figure out the thickness on. i opened the pic in Adobe Illustrator so that i could take a screenshot of the dynamic measure tool i use in it
i added a couple of pics showing what i am asking to have added (if possible). one shows a single measurement. the other shows that the tool could also make multiple measurements all over and then be closed out.
could adding something like this be possible? being able to measure stuff live in SuperSlicer would make it more feature-rich and help guys like me out.
