Not an issue, but I don't know where to put this. #1

I've managed to update the bios on my steam machine without reverting to bashing my system. After all, compiling a kernel module definitely beats trying to create a bootable usb flash stick. Especially when it's not needed. http://steamcommunity.com/app/353530/discussions/0/2132869574259998339/ is a very rough description of what I did.

I noticed that afulnx_64 needs to have a file called .._mod which should be the .ko. But it will try to remove and recompile it on every run. So I took this git and made it immutable.

My experience with trying to create a bootable image are so bad, I'd rather use coreboot utils to brick my system than spend days of work to create a suitable pxe image. So thanks for not having to revert to coreboot utils. What might be interesting is to just figure out what afu is doing more than just flashing, as flashing works perfectly fine with core boot. On my old system it also copies mac addresses.

Ard,

That is very similar to what I had to do to get it to stick. Once the modules are compiled and in place in the correct directories, afu will stop trying to recreate them. Let me know if you need any help or if you managed to get it to go.
