Looks like it uses protobufs, which would take me some time to look into, as I haven't used them before. was going to wait for work with google to become a thing as per #5
happy for others to look into this though and provide a PR.
This will now be possible through https://console.nest.google.com/device-access
however that would mean a complete re-write for this project. I will wait and see if HA makes an official plugin with this before I update here.
I saw the notify regarding; Last year, we announced that we're moving from the Works with Nest program to the Google Nest Device Access program. Today, we're excited to announce the Device Access Console is available.Device Access allows qualified partners and individuals to securely access and control Nest products with their apps and solutions.Commercial developers can learn more by visiting the Device Access page. For individual smart home developers, learn more about the program.Or, if you don't want to wait any longer, jump right in and visit the Device Access Console.
Any idea who I can try contact, regarding the official nest integration?
no idea, best bet would be to look at the home assistant repo and either raise it there or find out who made the original official plugin
LOOOOOL, nice try google..... "Make sure you have your credit card handy to pay the one time non-refundable $5 registration fee in the next step. "
@spripe I indeed called this functionality already in #5. For now we should be very, VERY, happy this actually works and keeps working. As long as Google doens't go forward with their device access, we won't know how far hassio is with integrating. Slinky already added in #5 he won't develop this further and wait for the official plugin
Just wondering if the stream functionality on this component can be modified in a way similar to this. https://github.com/Brandawg93/homebridge-nest-cam So we fetch the stream instead of still image?
