Watch TV: Buffering, Starting Player..., No Video

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Select Watch TV
2. Select a channel to view
3. Buffers, then last message says "Starting Player..." then fails back to
the channel list.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
To be able to watch a live TV channel.  No video is displayed; just exits
back to the channel list.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Mythbackend running on Ubuntu 9.11 64-bit (not Mythbuntu).  HDHomerun
provides live TV via antenna (tuner 1) and cable (tuner 2). Frontend is
XBMC 9.11 with Mythbox beta SVN 1558.

Please provide any additional information below.
I can see channel listings and recorded shows on my mythbackend.  I don't
have the Recording Directory set to look at the backend properly as there
is no shared directory so this could be an issue.

I should also comment that the frontend is running on a Mac.

PEBKAC Error, sorry for the false info.  Once I configured the recording 
directory to
properly see the backend, it started working.
