As there is a lot of overhead in updating the coordinates with cursor movement, the coordinates are only updated when the map is released. This is the correct default but sometimes it would be useful to know where the cursor is in coordinate space. Could add a keyboard modifier (e.g. shift) to allow the cursor position to be updated with mouse movement.
