demo(lda) fails -- need to replace topic with variable minor code simplification for slda modification

Good catches! Thanks for fixing these. There seems to be a merge conflict; can you rebase your branch against the master (I think it's just whitespace differences but better to be safe).

Yes, it looks like white space. I did a rebase. Can you try again?
