I tried to initiate a PM/DM/whatever-they're-called conversation from bitlbee-discord with a Discord friend, with whom I had never chatted privately before. The plugin spit this error into &bitlbee:
<@root> discord - Error: Failed to create channel for unknown user: 'friend-name'.
Once I opened the Discord site and clicked the user in my friends list to open a new, blank conversation, resending the message from IRC worked just fine.
