On the fly gamepad support #159

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. If you have a gamepad or device like it with 12 or so buttons you are not
fully able to play the game. For example timers cannot be used while there are
just not enough buttons. Also the setting up of the device by team is not that
easy.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I would like to see a gamepad profile option in the GUI which would hold
predefined buttons for a gamepad (or several different models of gamepads). The
buttons could be somehow like in the Playstation 3's remake version of the
original Worms. (I think it is this game
http://us.playstation.com/games-and-media/games/worms-ps3.html)

So I guess the gamepad would have to hold at least as many button as the
Playstation gamepad holds so you could play the game.

One idea on how to reduce the amount of needed buttons is to make the timer
button so that the button does not define the seconds exactly but it changes is
to bigger value like 3->4->5->1->2->3. This way one button could be used to
give any value.

The buttons and idea could be cruelly copied from the Playstation's Worms. It
works pretty fine.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
I'm running Linux Ubuntu 10.10 with the version 0.9.15-1 of Hedgewars.

Please provide any additional information below.
Better gamepad support would be nice while playing Hedgewars on HTPC and on LCD
TV with your friends. Passing on the keyboard is just not as comfortable as the
gamepad. Also if you've got new players joining the setting of the gamepad is
currently quite the pain in the ass.

And with gamepad I mean a device somewhat like this on this web site:
http://www-mp3.us/logitech-gamepad

By the way. I just Love Hedgewars. It is just the kind of fun I have been
looking for my HTPC. Previously I had Worms Plus running on DosBox and that
didn't give me much respect :)

Thanks

Smaxx added controller support some time ago. I guess the question is how good
is the SDL support for your controller, although I haven't looked into his code
much.

I don't think this has to do with the SDL support. I mean that the current
implementation is not that usable. It would be good if you could just choose
gamepad as a input device and switch back to keyboard if you like.

So this is not a bug report but more a feature request :)

Thirded. As it is, players have to work pretty hard to get a gamepad to work,
and switching back to keyboard is rough too. Even just being able to save
button assignment schemes would go a long way.
