Japanese: Chain-Chomp's bark and the red coin sound effect doesn't sound like they should compared to playing the game in an emulator or the actual N64 hardware.

European: No sound at all. That's about it.

The chain chomp and red coin sounds are supposed to be different in the Japanese version. Do they sound as they’re supposed to in that version, or are they different from that too?

I think there's a vid floating around for the JP version that can be used as a reference for this

"Do they sound as they’re supposed to in that version?" They should, but they don't. Since I have nothing to capture footage from my PC, try to build the port with the japanese version yourself just to find out.
