GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.start connectbot and try to enter username@hostname:port
2.same when entering port forwarding
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
To enter Port number I need to press ":" but there is no way to get it.

What version of the product are you using (you can see this by using Menu
-> About in the Host List)?
1.7.0 (r5fbae7c 2010.09.02

What type of system are you trying to connect to?
OpenSUSE but connection is OK

If you are able to connect, what is the output of "echo $TERM", "uname -a",
and any other relevant information on the host?
screen

Please provide any additional information below.
The Keyboard inside the shell is different. It contains 4 levels of
numeric/special characters. so here it is possu]ible to enter ":". But during
the menu windows inside the app the keyboard has oly one numeric/special level
[?123} and ":" and many characters are missing.
The I9000M also has no trackball, so there is no way to enter CTRL or ALT. So
for this phone I do not see a way to practically use the ssh client.

hello,

i'm using a I9003, variant of your phone model.

This is a native design issue - but can be easily rectified.

I'll assume you are currently on Froyo (2.2.1).

On your QWERTY keypad, there is a gear button, which directs to keyboard
settings.

There you will find 4 types of key boards: QWERTY, 3x4 , and two variants of
handwriting recognition inputs.

Use any of the handwriting inputs, and input the drawing equivalent of ":", and
there, your problems are solved.

Do correct me if i made a mistake.
