connec server ok...
but can not typing anything, virtual keyboard cannot launch

same problem here (acer betouch e120 - android 1.6): can load connectbot, 
connect to server, but cannot load virtual keyboard when in shell.

same problem for motorola XT5(android2.1). connecting but ; virtual keyboard 
cannot launch.

same problem for Sony ericsson x10i.. Could connect to server, but virtual 
keyboard can't be launched.
