Not all IMEs offer an easy option to change to another IME; this means that if, 
for example, I'm using Full Keyboard to get a d-pad, and I want to switch to 
simeji or openwnn for Japanese input, I need to switch away from connectbot to 
another app with a normal text box in order to change my IME setting. It would 
be convenient if I could do the switch right from connectbot itself.

it turns out that my gingerbread comes with a command called ime which can do 
this in the terminal. Though I still would like gestures to be implemented foe 
easy switching.
