for the secondary resources (Observation, DocRef, Condition) it is common to join to one of the primary resources (Encounter, Patient). Since our counts builders are targeted at a single table, we aren't using them as part of the core study today.
We should add an option to include one additional table and join on a single field as part of the counts generator infrastructure.
