User and group sync

Hi I'm using Humhub with Keycloak.

I'm interested in syncing Humhub group members to Matrix/Element spaces.

It looks like Matrix/Element can do LDAP sync, but I don't currently have an LDAP service.

Is syncing Humhub group membership to Matrix/Element spaces on your roadmap?

I do have access to a small budget for this work, so may be able to contribute to development costs if you were interested in adding this functionality soon.

Hi,

We planned to bind some humhub events with hydrogen like :

• Create matrix room when a space is created
• Add user in room when member is added in space
• Remove user from room when member is removed from space

To do that

• we have to modify hydrogen which does not provide this API. Some modifications are in progress and more are planned on our hydrogen fork to improve the integration between humhub and hydrogen (https://github.com/smart4life/hydrogen-web/).
  • The user account must exist on humhub and matrix. I don't known keycloak but I know that is possible to link humhub and matrix on the same ldap. Maybe that a matrix module exists to link matrix on keycloak or maybe it is possible to register a new user in matrix when user account is registered in humhub but at the moment we had not planned to do.

Do you have an approximate timeline to when you'll have these features working? Would a financial contribution help to speed this up? Or is the bottleneck a capacity issue in your team?

On your final bullet: We have set up SSO for Humhub and Matrix/Element, using OIDC so that part seems possible.

I'm sorry for the delay, we are really busy on others subjects. However I just pushed some details on how to create link between users/spaces and matrix rooms (https://github.com/smart4life/humhub-hydrogen/blob/master/TODO.md). This documentation is really theroric but I think that it should working.
