Space sign in slide div?

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. I am customising the script, and am trying to place the slideshow image
in a div that has the exact proportions as the slide image.
2. There seems (i am not sure) to be a space sign slipped in front of the
slideshow image somehow, but i can't get rid of it.
3. I tried everything to make it fit, but i just can't see where the space
sign would come from. I don't follow the code creation exactly.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Instead of aligning with the content, the image is slightly shifted to the
right. Not pretty.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
r26, example-4.html
Windows XP, FF

Please provide any additional information below.

Goods news: 
I found the problem, i am not insane or paranoid, it had been described in the
comment section:

Bad news:
i wasted a Sunday searching for a space sign...oh well. :)

There was a space on line #630:

.append('<span class="image-wrapper current"><a class="advance-link" 
rel="history" href="#'+this.data[nextIndex].hash+'" 
title="'+imageData.title+'"> </a></span>')

which is now replaced with

This is a major issue for (I would assume) most people, and has an uber, super 
simple fix, yet this ticket has been around for well over a year. C'mon man, 
help us out!
