SCRF Forum’s #ResearchPulse Issue 86 is now live. Check out the full issue at the following link: https://scrf.substack.com

This week's topics include:

đź“Ś A Taxonomy of DAOs đź“Ś ZK Cross-Chain Bridges đź“Ś AMMs With a Better Fee Structure

Of special interest… https://www.smartcontractresearch.org/t/2205

Check out a paper that offers a taxonomy of Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAOs) and their underlying governance mechanisms. It also guides DAO creators toward governance frameworks that match their prerequisites.

“Voting Mechanism Selection for Decentralized Autonomous Organizations” by Winsome Kurniawan (https://www.linkedin.com/in/winsome-kurniawan-a9b165150/)

To prevent users from being siloed to specific blockchains, cross-chain bridges are essential. But to date they have been plagued with performance and security issues. This new paper describes fast, safe, trustless cross-chain bridges designed with zero-knowledge proofs.

“zkBridge: Trustless Cross-chain Bridges Made Practical” by Tiancheng Xie (https://www.linkedin.com/in/tiancheng-x-43a072203/), Jiaheng Zhang (https://www.linkedin.com/in/jiaheng-zhang-b21953149/), Zerui Cheng (https://www.linkedin.com/in/zerui-cheng-003b08235/), Fan Zhang (https://www.linkedin.com/in/0xfanzhang/), Yupeng Zhang (https://www.linkedin.com/in/yupeng-zhang-34334a88/), Yongzheng Jia (https://www.linkedin.com/in/yongzheng-jia-26719021/), Dan Boneh (https://www.linkedin.com/in/dan-boneh-8b599020/), and Dawn Song (https://www.linkedin.com/in/dawn-song-51586033/)

Automated Market Makers (AMMs) are the backbone of trading in DeFi, but their behavior is still poorly understood. This paper analyzes the fundamental properties of AMMs and proposes a new fee structure that makes AMMs indifferent to transaction splitting, i.e., splitting a swap into many transactions. Doing so provides more privacy and resistance to attack vectors, but these benefits haven’t been realized in the past due to the prohibitive fees that accompany transaction splitting.

“Axioms for Automated Market Makers: A Mathematical Framework in FinTech and Decentralized Finance” by Maxim Bichuch (https://www.linkedin.com/in/maxim-b-7717038/) and Zachary Feinstein (https://www.linkedin.com/in/zachary-feinstein-36a6433a/)
