Remember these metrics from a prior meeting. Should be crystalizing these somewhere
Started a discussion with @ttaloute on capturing Discord 5 metrics and how much of an impact that makes. Assessing whether that engagement strategy works. Might also include Google Analytics. Need to make sure we also consider control groups. @SirAh0 this should be a discussion point as part of our meeting. Controls might be able to be the whole post as an average, but we also have to be concerned about outliers. Might still be better to have an actual Discord 5 control group each week too. Reminder that we care about these metrics, but mostly just to see if our strategy is somewhat working.
Discussion point, how to provide more value to the discussion by providing summaries and staff notices. @ttaloute is going to test this out using the ENS paper thread that currently has 24.
Comment: The analysis of merits, drawbacks, and opportunities of ENS (Ethereum Name Service) have garnered some critical points of interest and questions in this discussion thread that include: What ARE the major differences between ENS and DNS (Domain Name Service)? What kind of challenges and limitations could ENS anticipate based on its similarities to DNS? What is its potential impact as adoption increases and future BNS’ (blockchain name services) are built on its frameworks?
Header: Here is a breakdown of questions, topics and key responses (KR) in the discussion on Ethereum Name Service (ENS).
What is going on with ENS Foundation’s leadership? (posed by Jmcgirk) KR: Favvz shares some updates
What is the potential of ENS disruption and adoption? (posed by Mark-Chen): KR: The numbers are showing that ENS is on the path to growth.
What are the similarities and differences of ENS and DNS? (posed and presented by jyezie, zube.paul and freakytainment) KR: Same desire readability but decentralization and other factors vary KR: ENS technology holds much potential in the area of use cases
Is it possible for ENS to get hijacked like DNS and are there ways to prevent this? (posed by GloriaOkoba) KR: Freakytainment explains how this is mitigated in DNS
thoughts on this format/language.
I like the intention here. Let's take a look at how that looks as a staff note from a space perspective in the moderation meeting
Talked about budget restrictions
Discussed the moderation efforts and value. Discussion "summarization" is something that could do as a bounty if we had a template. Either way, we need a review process and a template Action Item make templates/examples and how to socialize those/include in the issue ticket itself. Whereas the staff note is something that the team could do, but means we all have moderator status and access. Doing three of the discussion summaries as examples is good, maybe not a template. Maybe some description of the intent. Action Item ENS, What is a DAO, and Flash Loan
We did not get to items 2 and 3, so we will pick up with those next week and potentially in some issue tickets.
Recommendations for top discussions on a new wallet is going to go into the research channel.

This is an optional meeting.
Because this is an optional meeting, preparation is limited. Come with questions about bounties or potential resources related to skill trees/prior skills needed for moderation.
Related to October 5 meeting. This document is a JD that a skill tree could potentially be associated with. https://docs.google.com/document/d/14xB70CFpcbRaIjZVEqBKBrkmFSOIZlaaK447cRBHRqo/edit#heading=h.l899m8k3v6mr

Action Item Get Gloria and Tania moderation status
Gloria: Discord 5 just got put up. Seeking a discussion summary topic. Tania GTM board has information needs
Updated the Discussion Summary Template
Documentation Needs
Bounties discussion How do we compensate/reward/badge good work that happens on the forum in interesting and creative. And then, how do we make similar pipelines for other verticals. *Action item is to make a bounty for how to comment guide integration. Bounty for plagiarism ask for API on tooling and if the community doesn't know, it might become a Level 1 bounty GTM Tracking board Yesh and Tania are going to connect about making sure that the bounty board and the GTM board are speaking the same language.
If it’s becomes a level 1 bounty, will there be a way to gauge its efficiency?

@okoba I don't think we need to be as concerned with efficiency with a level 1 bounty. It ultimately is a bounty where the task gets completed to requirement or not. If it is inefficient, that might be ok because we don't currently have a detection system outside of a manual process.
@zubepaul. Didn’t mean to sound overly technical, I meant manually. Sent from my iPhone
