Hiring Process Development

This is an on-going project relating to building out the SCRF team as needed. During the summer of 2021, we brought on individuals to help with project management, building out the mentorship program, specific project leadership/support, onboarding, community, and branding/marketing.

The priorities as of the end of August 2021 are researcher, content/engagement, community leads, support for the video podcast, and general project managers to support overall projects

We have additional folks joining next week to help with onboarding and content/engagement/review. Some outstanding priorities include:

• social media manager
• community support
• generalized PM

The social media manager and community roles are still priorities.

goal here is to get more of a priority list of what roles are open and most pressing for us. as of right now, it's

• Research project manager who can own the content pipeline and potentially do some initial technical review
• Research project manager/intern to help with execution of outreach to research pulse authors
• Social media manager
• Community support

@twan-dev and @vsterling are helping me with mapping some potential research PM candidates, I need to review the folks Twan found. Speaking to an MBA student, a community/social media manager, and someone to support mentorship

created a job description for the PM, getting into HackMD and github

Need to review the feedback on the forum post. Social media, podcast support (writing, general tasks) are the priorities at the moment. Job descriptions will be shared on git soon

Working on a list of adjuncts and lecturers to reach out to. Have a MVP, document is available here

In line with some of the university outreach that we're thinking of, I've started putting together some more job descriptions including:

posted the peer reviewer and PM intern to github. going to hold off on the others as there might be 1-3 interns joining to help between podcast and outreach, so don't need to advertise that for now. the fellowship is waiting until we sort out our titles and our pitch uni's about funding grad students or post docs

need to re-assess hiring needs post ETHDenver. more to come in the next 2 weeks. meta-level q - what is the best way to keep track of this as team leads identity new hiring needs?

Tania is starting to map out the hiring process. Onboarding tracking sheet. Working on updating the process and to create ~10 hour grants for people to try taking on some small projects

Tania and I are meeting this week to review the people in play and the process. Tania has been coordinating with Valerie and Tamar in onboarding as well

I am going to convert this card to track the development of a hiring process and a method of tracking potential hires. A separate project will be creating a board for people to internally bring up hiring needs to track specific roles

Reviewed the process today with Tania. We'll have a meeting next week with some other folks to discuss. This doc links to all of the relevant hiring docs.
