This already exists, see FontAwesomeIcon.cshtml. Used for example at CMS > Menus > Edit menu > Edit menu item > Icon.

valuable hint, thank you! This would require development skills, though. I was more on the topic of including it within the HTML editor to be used universally for content without accessing system files.
