JCAMP-DX standard format should be better followed.
Current implementation in brukerTopspinGetPars does not follow the standard and may result in errors during reading parameters.
An example is a multiline string: in current implementation only the first line is read. The rest of the line is ignored.
Some attention should be paid on relaxing some requirements for reading only:
line length > 80 character for example
encoding should be ASCII but in practice on can find extra characters (like é) encoded with latin1 or utf-8.
Currently there are good chances that files not encoded in utf-8 but containing non ascii character cannot be read properly.
