Hm not sure how to solve that, I can't see a reason why it shouldn't play at 1080p. I'd look into InputStreamAdaptive Settings, which you can open in the settings of this plugin, and check the settings there. If that doesn't work, maybe bump up the required version of InputStreamAdaptive in the addons.xml - just a wild idea, though.
I must say that the image quality looks fully HD so maybe it is an error in reporting the definition. I will try your idea with InputStreamAdaptive. I have no problems with the Youtube addon to get 1080p streams.
Were you able to find a solution to your problem?
I tried to bump up the required version of InputStreamAdaptive in the addons.xml from 0.3.3 to 0.6.1 but it did not solve the problem. I don't know how that could help since I already had InputStreamAdaptive v0.6.1 installed. Anyway, as I already said, it is not a real problem. All my anime have a very good HD look (switching to LE12 nightly from LE11 also helped), rather than the recognizably inferior 720p that the video player menu claims to receive.
I just tested the unmodified nexus-staging branch from apr 11 (missing the XML changes) on a fresh v21 an I got 1080p.
Seems like this has been resolved. Since there were no more similar issues, I'm closing this for now. If anybody encounters the same issue, please leave a comment here and I'll re-open the issue.
I know this plugin only goes up to Nexus but I have tried on Nexus 21 Omega (due to a problem with LibreElec 11 on Raspeberry Pi 4). It works well except that I get video streams at 720p or even less but not 1080p. However, on Nexus 20, I do get 1080p.
