Removing the lc command after v1.4.3 because it did not work for
compressed files. Since the BAM and bgzf/gzip file formats are the
most common for large data sets, the lc command did not see enough use
to warrant its tradeoff of speed vs. accuracy when compared to wc -l
on the command line for smaller files.
