Also, Peter, are you sure the photo from panoramio contains EXIF data?
I've attached screenshot of properties window of win photo viewer and it shows 
nothing too

Hmm, good question but I don't usually exclude the exif. Also, on that web page 
near the bottom right there is a link labelled "Extra Information" and when 
clicked, it shows exif data.

But I shall verify. Tomorrow.

they also remove any metadata from photos and provide access via API like 
flickr does
