Extensions doesn't prevent sites dropping cookies #43

I recently installed this extension and I've noticed that the original URL does get loaded to the point that it would:

The redirect then works but I would expect the original URL to be completely blocked. I use the same extension on my phone and iPad and the original site flashes briefly so I expect the problem exists there too.

I'm guessing that you're aware of this and it's a limitation of Safari's extension API but I wanted to confirm that, and ask if there are any work arounds?

This is a limitation of Safari's API, as discussed here.

To prevent cookies, you could use something like 1Blocker and create a custom rule to prevent all cookies from reddit.com and related subdomains.

Could Privacy Redirect Safari incorporate an option to automatically block cookies from websites that are being redirected?

1Blocker is a whole suite of software far beyond this one functionality and it requires a separate subscription, unfortunately.
