The translated text has already been ripped from XY, all that's left to do is an implementation method.

@Zarel how do you feel about moving the "Disable animations" and "Enable BW Sprites" under another popup similar to the "Edit Formatting" one? Label it "Battle Preferences" and add the language option under there as well?

Also Ignore Spectators? (maybe a permanent option too)

It can have its own section, but I don't see a reason to hide it in a sub-popup.

It was just for consistency. Also I ran into a small snag. We use Pokemon-Forme for a lot of species names. Can we reflect that easily in other languages?

Formes have no translations so I'm probably going to implement #92 and figure out what to do about the true name.

Translate the forme in an unofficial way? Or use the English name of the forme.

Spanish forums I've read use the English forme names, so I guess they can be left untranslated. Checking #92 for a good implementation of it.

Btw, Formes have official translations in other languages, for example, "Deoxys Forma Velocidad" (Deoxys-Speed in English) which may be displayed as Deoxys-Velocidad in PS.

Yes, this is still planned.

My thoughts (sorry if they are really obvious):

Leave the server as is (DUH!)
Stop hardcoding text into the client
Use some sort of template thing (something like {{battle-button}}) to represent text on the client
Add a huge translations directory in some data storage format that maps stuff like {{battle-button}} to "Battle!" in English and "Batallar!" in Spanish (or "Buscar una batalla", etc.)
Serve page to user with translations subbed in!

BTW, does anyone know how Pandora Showdown (side server) does this with Spanish and English? @Slayer95 maybe?

They have their own client and heavily modded server - not in the way that it would be easy to do arbitrary localisations

Thinking about working on this over the weekend... this would be pretty easy with tagged template strings, is that too modern?

or with just a simple helper function... looks less nice though :P

Once again, it's not blocked on actual translation work, it's blocked on implementation.

I'm not personally going to work on this but I am just posting to say that it is not blocked on anything anymore.
