RE: wording. Actually, no that's not quite right. A sample from a probability distribution is a thing, and it's not a sample as in a set of values. Check out: https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/sample A single sample from a pdf, e.g., p(x, y, z) could be a single vector (x, y, z). The median posterior sample is a well-defined thing: it's the posterior sample (from a sampling, which we get back from MCMC) at the 50th percentile in each dimension.
(Realizing that "sample" is just one of those totally overloaded words in English...ugh)
