game opens but crasshes #1

that game will not open because theres a code isue

I'm not sure what the other fellow said, but the second I open the program it 
says "The program has stopped working. Windows is searching for a solution to 
the problem." And usually when this happens, I can fix it by adding it to the 
program execution exception list. When I tried it with this program, it 
wouldn't even let me do that. When I looked at the dll for the program in note 
pad, it said that "this program cannot run in DOS mode" and then a book's worth 
of meaningless gibberish followed after that. I don't know what's up with this 
program. I have windows 7. Did this executable work in xp or vista?
