Uninstalling mediate, mediatehelper.exe reboot error message #152

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
After uninstalling mediate and rebooting machine the following error
message appears:

Mediatehelper.exe – unable to locate component

This application has failed to start because streamzap.dll was not found.
Re-installing this application may fix this problem.

This error message appears every reboot.

I cannot find any reference to uninstall this component or the application
that might be using it apart from:
1. Navigating to
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run with the
Registry Editor (regedit) and deleting the “mediate helper” entry, or
2. Disabling the “mediatehelper” entry from Startup using the System
Configuration Utility (msconfig).

This happens in version 1.3.0 and beta versions 1.3.2 and 1.3.3

Related to Issue #84 - this key should be removed on uninstall

This value is now removed when uninstalling. Original problem would have only
occurred if the mediatehelper
was still running whilst uninstalling - this is now also checked in the
installer.
