Requests for field data #8

Dear Dr. mousavi, I am a postdoctoral researcher at Southern University of Science and Technology, China, and I have been deeply intrigued by the denoising methods outlined in your recent publications. They have sparked some innovative ideas for my own research endeavors. In particular, I am keen on utilizing your field data, especially the OBS data, to rigorously test the efficacy of my denoising method. However, despite my efforts, I have been unable to access the field data referenced in your papers. Would it be possible for you to consider publishing the OBS data along with your articles? Alternatively, could you kindly provide me with a copy of the data for testing purposes (zengzy@sustech.edu.cn)? I assure you that I will utilize it exclusively for evaluating my denoising method and will not disseminate it elsewhere.

Your assistance in this matter would be immensely appreciated.

Thank you for considering my request. I eagerly await your response.

Warm regards,

Looking forward to your reply.

Best regards, Zhiyi Zeng Southern University of Science and Technology zengzy@sustech.edu.cn

Hi Zhiyi, of course. I created a new repo (https://github.com/smousavi05/sample-data-for-denoising) and added all sample field data I used in my papers. Sorry if they are not well organized and labeled at the moment. It has been a while but It should be easy to recognize those that I used in my papers by just plotting all and comparing them visually. If you did so, it would be great to share it with me so I can label them in the repo's description.

Dear Prof. Mousavi,

I hope this email finds you well.

Thank you very much for providing the actual data, which will significantly enhance my research. I apologize for the delayed response; my wife gave birth to a lovely baby last month, and I needed to take some time off work to be with her. Over the past few days, I have carefully reviewed the data and identified several instances that correspond with examples in your paper, which I have marked. However, there are still some instances I could not locate, possibly due to an oversight on my part. Once again, I greatly appreciate your generous provision of the data.

I often read your other papers, particularly those on the application of machine learning in earthquake monitoring. Your research is consistently outstanding and valuable. I look forward to having more opportunities to discuss and exchange ideas with you in the future. I warmly welcome you to visit China and share your expertise with the Department of Earth and Space Sciences at Southern University of Science and Technology.

Attached are the data I have marked. Please review them.  Hope you have a good life!

Kind Regards,

Zhiyi Zeng
