Linux Compatibility #4

Why the plugin is compatible only with OS X? Maybe because of the Spotify API or something else?

To control Spotify this plugin uses AppleScript, which is only available on OS X.

If there's a Python Spotify client, you might be able to make this work on Linux. That might be a little extreme though.
