I am a Certified Scrum Product Owner, what would my role be under SMPL?

Scum comprises of 3 roles (well 4 really).

Scrum places the responsibility for ROI and by extension the relevancy of features and benefits that a product development team is producing onto the shoulders of the Product Owner.

SMPL doesn't recognize roles. Instead it mandates that a single point of accountability for 4 key areas is established.

Individuals are encouraged to wear the hat that they feel most comfortable selecting on each individual vision.

The SMPL Guide and other issues have highlighted that a single individual working on an idea could wear all 4 accountability hats; however, as part of adapting the flow and the vision for the purpose of reaching sustained outcomes, each model is encouraged to their single point of accountability established.

Decomposing the PO role across two accountabilities,: Investment and the Usefulness and Relevancy, makes the traditional functions and activities of a PO under scrum a shared team responsibility;

SMPL views these accountabilities as components and could be concentrated or distributed. SMPL does not create artificial boundaries by limiting the individuals or imposing arbitrary limits onto the participants in a SMPL implementation.
