Allow SMPlayer through firewall ?

Hello, I checked and SMPlayer is not authorized through my firewall, is it normal that SMPlayer is not authorized through my firewall while we are using SMPlayer to play online videos from different videos websites streaming ? Is there a risk if we allow SMPlayer via the firewall if we play video streamng from the internet?

I ask the question because I failed to play some streaming video and I wonder if allowing SMPlayer vfirewall would solve the problem but is there a really security risk ?

You only need underlying player (mvp) authorized to stream video. You might want smplayer passing if you want it to be able to check for updates or decode Youtube links.
