Display subtitles for audio track without video (eg. audiobook) #850

I'm trying to listen to an audiobook in a foreign language. Subtitle file is provided in vtt format and it appears that SMPlayer loads it automatically when I open the audio file - it appears as the primary subtitle track.

However it seems that because there is no video displayed the subtitles do not have any space to appear... I would like subtitles to display whether or not there is video.

Have you tried adding via metatag a cover art to your audio file? You could associate the book cover image to its audio file :wink:

I just tried with an mp3 file with an associated cover, then I added a random subtitle file via smplayer menu 'subtitles > load...' and it seems already working to me:
